About the Founder
Hey friends, my name is Jada Gibson! Growing up in a community filled with unique, creative expressions of life and love, I’m no stranger to the power of the arts and creativity being used to build and strengthen community. I am also familiar with this community being underrepresented and under-resourced in equitable and culturally competent mental health care. Both mental wellness and creative expression are initiatives I am passionate about and this realization led to my mission: to amplify diverse voices by welcoming passion and creativity as a tool for growth in each person’s mental health journey.
This led me to pursue a master’s in mental health counseling at Johns Hopkins University. Along the way, I learned so much about the importance of creating safe spaces where people can express themselves creatively. I also found myself diving deeper into my own journey as a singer, realizing just how much creative expression has been a key part of my healing and well-being. The more I explored this, the stronger my passion grew for blending wellness, community, and creativity. And that's how The Creative Health Collective came to be – a place where healing and creativity come together in a way that feels truly transformative.
"Art has to be a kind of confession. If you can examine and face your life, you can discover the terms with which you are connected to other lives". – James Baldwin
